I'm Chef Tung Nguyen, a New Orleans-born chef blending my Vietnamese heritage with Cajun soul and an unapologetic cowboy swagger.
I was raised in my family's seafood and po'boy shop and trained in kitchens across New Orleans. I cook without rules, keeping food bold, fearless, and deeply personal. My cuisine is inspired by Vietnamese classics, Louisiana comfort food, and global street food culture. I've been on a culinary journey that finally led me to Oklahoma City, where I found that good 'ol cowboy swagger. Since, I've been disrupting the BBQ scene by introducing bold asian flavors into traditional barbecue. I'm honored to be a Zagat 30 Under 30 honoree and multiple NOWFE award winner and the culinary force behind Asian Cajun Cowboy. Currently, I'm bringing that same energy to national television as a competitor on Food Network's BBQ Brawl with Bobby Flay, Season 7 premiering May 2026.
